Baby Hearts Press is an independent publishing company that has been providing books and resources for the congenital heart defect (CHD) community since 1997. Owner and founder, Anna Jaworski, is the mother of a young adult with the complex congenital heart defect known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). She is the author of two books, editor of two books, a contributor to a number of books as well as a public speaker and internet talk radio show host of Heart to Heart with Anna.

Anna's second speech, "My Child's Bright Future" discusses the way our children with congenital heart defects in the year 2007 DO have a bright future. She gives some tips for how to ensure our children have a bright future despite their heart defects. Anna shares stories about how her son, Alex, (born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome) has overcome problems in his life caused by his heart defect to achieve success and a happy life.

"Raising a Child with a Congenital Heart Defect" is a 45-minute Keynote Address where Anna shared stories about raising her children, Joey (heart healthy) and Alex (HLHS). This speech outlined appropriate behaviors and parental expectations for helping children grow up and grow into independent adults. Handouts to accompany the speech are available for download here.



Anna's second speech, "Planning for a Bright Future" was another 45-minute speech where Anna outlined tips for helping children with congenital heart defects have a bright future. Peppered with her own experience raising a son with HLHS, Anna gave example of tips to help parents during 3 major progressions to adulthood: Infancy, Toddlerhood and Early Childhood; Pre-Teens and Early Teens; and Teens and Young Adults. 10 Tips for Helping Your Child Have a Bright Future is the handout that accompanied this speech, which can be downloaded here.
